We in Islam believe that the Qur'an confirms all the messages sent by Allah through His Messengers. So what applies to the Muslim also applies to the Jew and the Christian.

Islam teaches us that when a woman has a discharge of blood (menses) called her menstrual period. A woman in such a condition becomes unclean and should not pray or have physical intercourse with her husband. She can hold her husband or do anything but not intercourse. Then when the blood stops to flow, she has to take a bath before she can pray, or have intercourse.

The bible says: When a woman has a discharge of blood which is in her regular discharge from her body, she shall be apart seven days. And whosoever touches her shall be unclean until the evening. And everything that she lies upon in her separation shall be unclean. Everything also that she sits upon shall be unclean (Leviticus 15-19).

The above verse declares the woman totally in a state of being unclean when she is under her menstrual period. But Islam makes her able to do everything with her husband except physical intercourse. And this shows that the Muslim is commanded with what the Christian and the Jew have been commanded. And even more simple in the case of Muslims. Because the bible says the woman should be kept away in her period, but Islam permits her.

Islam teaches that both the man and the woman have their various responsibilities in marriage. The woman is the controller of the house.

The bible says: God said to Eve when she attempted Adam, I will greatly multiply your pain in childbearing, in pain you shall bring forth children, yet your desire shall be for your husband and he shall rule over you (genesis 3:6).

We Muslims are commanded to take our bath and wash the whole of our body when ever we have intercourse with our partners. What does the bible say? The bible says: If a man has an emission of semen. He shall bathe his whole body in water and be unclean until the evening every garment and every skin on which this semen comes shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the evening (Leviticus 15:18 ).

The bible says: If a man lies with a woman and has an emission of semen, both of them shall bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the evening (Leviticus 15:18 ). In Islam, when a person takes his bath after intercourse, he immediately becomes clean, and he can pray and do what he likes. This is the cleanliness that Allah has commanded all His Messengers with.

The Qur'an commanded us to cover our modesty, and that makes the woman to wear the veil. What does the bible say?

The bible says: But any woman who prays and prophecies with her head unveiled dishonours her head it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a woman will not veil herself then she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her wear a veil (1 Corintians 11:5).

The bible says again: For a man ought no to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God. But woman is the glory of man, for man was not made from woman, but woman from man, neither was man created for woman, but woman for man (1 corintians 11:7).

The bible says: the woman should keep silence in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should but subordinate, as even the law says. If there is anything they desire to know let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church (1 corintians 14:34 ).

Women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair of gold or pearls or costly attire but by good deed. (1 timothy 2:9).

From the verses above, we can all understand that, the Muslim woman is practising what the true Christians of the past use to do. And it seems that the Christians are unaware of the obligation of the veil in the bible as well as all the spiritual command in relation to women.

So many Christians believe that the woman in Islam is oppressed, but from the verses of the bible, we realised that the Muslims are obedient, but the orders are all the same. And the bible says: Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.
